Clay Bowls Part 1: Making the Bowls

Today the students made bowls from scratch! Each student received a ball of clay and I instructed them on how to work the clay with their fingers to create a dip in the middle and work it out, eventually forming a bowl. When the students were happy with their bowl shape, I showed them how they could make designs and patterned in the bowl with water (to make it smooth) and with toothpicks to draw.
