Math Games Program
This semester I introduced a Math Program revolving around math games into the class. Take a look at what I've done!
I created games that can be played individually, in pairs, small groups and as a whole class, to vary the experience from game to game. The math games are an option for the students in their free time when they are finished their seat work. If a student is finished their other work they may choose to play a game on their own or with a friend who has also completed their work.
As most whole class games involve little set up and are teacher directed, they also provide an option to fill extra time such as transitions while waiting for the planning teacher to arrive or a recess bell to ring.
The games I created have be left in the classroom for my teacher to use the rest of the year and possible years to come. The games can also be shared with the other grade one teacher to use with her students. Since most of the games have difficulty modifications, there they can also be shared with the grade two, three and four teachers as well; incorporating multiplication and division instead of addition and subtraction and using higher numbers.

I have definitely seen an improvement in the students with their math skills from the beginning of the year. They are now confident in recognizing numbers and have improved their addition and subtraction skills substantially, now doing equations independently and knowing how to find the solution on their own!
Here are a few other games which I created and have been introduced to the classand are apart of the program but I have not personally implimented
