Crazy Blow Paint Hair

While looking for a fun new art project for the students to try, I came across this Pinterest post by the user Krokotak called I'm Crazy In Love With You. The pin linked me to her blog post about the activity on her website. Admittedly, I was not a huge fan of the hearts, but the rest of the idea looked like a lot of fun.

As our class is not a big fan of drawing, we decided to take pictures of their faces, and print and cut them out for the students to create their crazy hair on. The teacher and I walked around with different colours of paint (slightly watered down), and when a student needed a colour we put it on their page where they asked. Then, using straws, the students blew the watered down paint away from their portrait faces. The result was bright and colourful crazy hair, just as I had hopped. Each one unique from the rest based on how they blew and where they put their colours; take a look:

Please note, all the students faces have been pixelated out to protect their identities.

The following is the lesson plan for this activity
