Place Value Call

Today I played a little game with the students to help them learn place values. I printed a bunch of three-digit numbers for each student in the class. I then printed the numbers 0-9 three times and the words "ones" "tens" and "hundreds" and cut them all up. I invited the class to all stand up with their numbers at their desks as I drew one word and one number. If a student had the number I called I called on their card they had to sit down. For example: if I drew the word "tens" and the number 6, anyone with a 6 in the tenth position sat down.
EDIT: Today I played a different version of this game that was basically the opposite. All students sat at their desks and were given semi-transparent plastic chips. I picked numbers the same way and if a number was picked that they had they would put a chip on it and when all their numbers were covered they yelled a word to signify they wond. We decided to just use the word bingo. I think this version worked a lot better because even though the students seemed to really enjoy the other version, I noticed that certain students got upset if they sat down, especially if it was early. This version of the game also held everyone's attention better as there were no students who were 'out' who no longer had to keep track of what was going on. I also re-made the numbers to be colour coded: the tree digits of the numbers they received had a coloured background to help the students identify which number was being called.
Here is the file I created and printed for the class:
